DIY Programming on siding track with Z21 Starter

Posted on October 13, 2025October 13, 2025 by rmolins

I sometimes want to program CV to one locomotive without the need to remove other locomotives from the track (POM). To avoid this, added a siding with a DPDS connected to the Z21 white. This allows to bring a loco to the siding, change the switch, program the loco and after changing the switch again the loco is connected to the main track without the need to remove any rolling stock. The tasks were:

  • Add a switch
  • Automatization of the switch using ROCO 10030
  • Add the isolated siding
  • Connection of the DPDS switch

The ROCO 10030 allows for polarization of the frog. This is also conected.
