Rural diorama base

Posted on 2024-11-082026-04-20 by rmolins

I am doing a small diorama to test new ideas. The objective is to make a straight track with a small pond, a field and some unpaved track.

  • The base was done using plaster for moulding and brown.
  • Track was painted to simulate rust
  • Noch ballast was adds and glued to the board.
  • The grass was applied using a homemade static grass applicator
  • The brown mud was glued using mud from the near forest.

The result is quite satisfying, but I am not totally happy with the track painting and the ballast. I will try different colors and rust option to see what works best.

The ballast glue from NOCH is quite expensive. For the first attempt I used this glue to ensure good results, but I will explore using white glue+water+soap.
